In person registration:
In order for us to process your request for a library card, you will need to bring a picture identification and proof of current address (a utility bill, lease agreement) to the check-out desk in the lobby. We will be able to process your card on the spot. If you do not bring proof of your current address, we will only be able to issue you a temporary card until you can bring in proof of address.
Online registration:
Your library card will be saved for you to pick up at the library. For your first visit, bring a picture identification and proof of current address (a utility bill, lease agreement) to the Circulation desk in the lobby. In the meantime, we will e-mail you your library card barcode number so that:
- You immediately can place holds online for titles you would like to borrow and
- You can access RRPL’s online databases.
Holds notification:
You may choose how you receive notification that items you have requested are available for pick up. Your options are:
- To be notified via telephone
- To be notified via e-mail
Your preference will be added to your account at the time of registration. There is a space for this information on the registration form.
You may also check the availability of your holds at any time online by logging into your account on our library catalog (ibistro.rrpl.org). You will need your entire 14-digit library card number* and your PIN number. If you are unsure of your PIN number, please request this information, with proper ID, at the check-out desk.
Once your hold becomes available, you have three (3) days to pick it up from the checkout desk.
(*located on the back of your physical card; for your safety, this information is not available on your receipt.)
Age limitations:
If you are under 18 years of age, please print out the application form and bring it to the library with a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian must sign your form. Minors (under the age of 18 years) may be identified by a parent or guardian with picture ID and proof of current address. If you are under 18 years of age, you MAY NOT apply online.
Privacy statement: By Ohio law, the information that links your name with library materials, and the information you provide when you register for a library card is private. It is available only to you and to appropriate library staff in support of library service. The library does not share this information with others.
