Search The Reading Room to find the perfect book to match your reading tastes.
In a Basic Search, use a keyword search in a variety of search fields to meet a particular need. You can search by Author, Title, Descriptors, Time Periods, and Geographic Settings.
- For example, if you want to find books which are British mysteries with a rural setting and a police detective, search by "mystery," "British," "rural," and "police procedural" to compile a list of books to read.
- You can limit this search by:
- Number of pages
- Format (i.e. Large Print, Young Adult)
- Publication Date
- Reviewer
In an Advanced Search, you can select multiple descriptors (subject headings), locations, and time periods to do one search using several terms.
- Search by combining specific Descriptors, Geographic Settings and Time Periods to create a customized list of books you may enjoy.
Your search results will display as a list of books, that when clicked on individually, will display as a detailed book review. From these book reviews, at any time, you can check a title’s availability within the library’s catalog by clicking on the iBistro button in the ISBN field link.
During a search session, readers can create printable book lists of titles they find interesting by adding titles to their “Book Bag.”
