Construction updates, 1/2/07
The Rocky River Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, January 10, due to construction activities. The Children’s Department will remain closed an additional day, January 11, as the department is moved to its newly renovated space on the 2nd floor. The Library’s $3 million renovation began in the spring of 2006 and is scheduled for completion in March 2007.
According to John Lonsak, Library Director, “Construction activities for this phase of the project necessitate that we close the library for one day. We want to do everything possible to protect public safety and ensure that our renovation continues on schedule, with the least amount of disruption of services to our patrons. We apologize for any inconvenience during this time, but we also know our patrons are looking forward to a more beautiful and efficient library.”
As the final phase of the renovation project begins, work shifts to the main floor and lower levels. As a result, beginning January 11, there will be very limited public computer access for several weeks. Four internet express terminals will be set up near the reference desk for individuals to check e-mail or do a quick internet search, limited to 15 minutes. Word processing will be unavailable, as there will be no access to Microsoft Office products. As work progresses this spring, the library will be without any public computer access for a short time before our new computer lab opens.
