Come to discuss this nonfiction book about Henrietta Lacks, a 31-year-old mother of five in Baltimore who died of cervical cancer in 1951. Without her knowledge, doctors treating her at Johns Hopkins took tissue samples for research - spawning the first viable cell line - known as HeLa - cells which have aided in medical discoveries from the polio vaccine to AIDS treatments.
