Freegal
Use your Rocky River Public Library card to download free, legal music from Freegal. This new digital music service allows Library patrons to search a large collection of music and download songs permanently at no charge.
Freegal is an online database that provides access to hundreds of thousands of major label songs from new & legendary artists from Sony Music Entertainment.
We are pleased to bring this exciting service to the public, especially at a time when more people are choosing to get their music online!

Are you a movie buff who can’t keep up with the latest DVD releases? Our customized e-mail newsletters notify you of the newest DVD selections available at Rocky River Public Library. Career Cruising
Career Cruising is an online career guidance and planning system designed to help users find the right career, explore their education and training options to prepare for it, and build their own employment portfolios. The system includes self-assessment tools to determine skills and aptitudes, hundreds of detailed occupation profiles (each including a job description, working conditions, potential earnings, a sample career path, links to related occupations, and multimedia interviews), tools for locating appropriate education and training, job-interviewing resources, and tips for being successful once you are hired. OhioHeretoHelp.com connects users to information and resources from both public and private entities that can help them search for a job, find education and training opportunities, and learn about the many other services and supports that might be available to them.

Text a Librarian
Need info on the go? Now all you have to do is text a librarian! Responding to the popularity of text messaging, the Library can now answer your questions by text message.
“Text a Librarian” is a free service that provides a convenient option for getting information on your cell phone or smart phone from our reference librarians.
Text us at 66746, type in the keyword “askrrpl” and ask your question. The service provides quick answers, but is not intended to answer long, detailed questions. Standard message and data rates may apply. The service does not display phone numbers and keeps patron information private and secure. Text us!
Learn a New Language!
RRPL has a new online language system, BYKI, short for “Before You Know It.” This is a rapid learning system employing spaced interval repetition.
The BYKI learning method takes users through a series of simple steps to memorize words and phrases in a new language, including their meanings and proper pronunciation, in the shortest possible time. Available for learning over 70 languages, BYKI can be accessed by Library patrons from inside or outside of the Library, on both Windows and Mac computers. Sign up today.
