There are many ways you can support Rocky River Public Library:
Rocky River Public Library Foundation
The Rocky River Public Library Foundation, formed in 1969, welcomes contributions to the library through gifts, bequests, memorials and planned giving. A board of community members sets policies; provides financial oversight for the accounting, management and investment of all Foundation funds; and disburses interest from the endowment for programs and purchases to benefit the library.
Both the Foundation and Rocky River Public Library are charitable organizations recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The people of Rocky River have a tradition of generously supporting their library. In addition to local property tax revenues, the library also receives a portion of the Ohio Library and Local Government Support Fund (LLGSF). However, the State of Ohio continues to reduce the amount of support available through this fund.
The Foundation and the generous individuals, families and corporations that contribute to the Foundation’s endowment fund, help assure the library’s future by offsetting reduced state funding.

Friends of Rocky River Public Library
The Friends of Rocky River Public Library, a nonprofit organization founded in 1971, provides financial support and volunteer services to the library. Through membership dues and fundraising activities, the Friends make possible programs and services, furniture and equipment purchases that the library could not otherwise afford. The Friends enhance the library’s ability to serve children, teens, families, seniors and the whole community.
Everyone is welcome to join the Friends of Rocky River Public Library: individuals, families, businesses and organizations who value the library as a community asset.

Women’s Committee of Rocky River Public Library
Organized in 1953, the Women’s Committee of Rocky River Public Library is a group of hard-working volunteers. For decades Women’s Committee members have sorted and sold thousands of donated books and library discards at the group’s twice-annual sales. Funds earned have enabled the library to add equipment and furnishings and launch new services, such as the popular Rapid Reads: hot, newly released books loaned for one week. The Women’s Committee also holds social events for members each spring and fall. The Women’s Committee welcomes new members. Interested persons should contact the library Administration Department at 440 333-7610, ext. 3710. Book sales are suspended during the library’s renovation in 2006.

Cowan Pottery Museum Associates
Cowan Pottery Museum Associates actively maintain and enhance the creative heritage of Cowan Pottery by supporting the Cowan Pottery Museum of Rocky River Public Library. Associates enjoy several informative and entertaining events every year. The annual Cowan Pottery Museum Symposium brings together pottery collectors and experts for a day or more of lectures, presentations, discussions and tours. The silent auction of donated Cowan Pottery pieces adds the excitement of competition to the event while it helps support the work of the Associates. The Associates encourage young ceramic artists with an art pottery competition for area high school students and a scholarship for college students.
