Computers, printers, copiers and microfilm reader/printers are available for your use at Rocky River Public Library.
Computers and printers
Computers in the Adult Reference area feature Internet access to our premium databases. Databases provide accurate, reliable information for homework help and researching investments, genealogy and other interests. Users can send and receive web-based e-mail and search the World Wide Web. To view websites, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Macromedia Flash Player, Shockwave, QuickTime and Real Player are enabled. From Microsoft Office 2000, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are available. Later this year, new computers will allow patrons to use CDs and USB devices as well as floppy disks to save data. A computer with a large-type monitor is available for the sight-impaired. Computer use is free. To access the computers, please use your library card number to sign in on our automated computer management system.
The first 10 pages of black and white printouts per day are free. Additional printouts are 10 cents per page. All color printouts are 25 cents per page.
At the Express Internet counter, two computers are available for 15-minute turns to check e-mail or for quick Internet searches. Two more computers at the Express counter, as well as computers throughout the library, are available for searching Rocky River Public Library’s catalog.
In the Children’s Department, computers are available for children to access homework databases and the Internet, to listen to stories and play games. Printers are available for black and white or color copies.
Rocky River Public Library prohibits Internet chat on computers in the library. Please see our Internet Access and Computer Use Policy for complete information.
